SDMA Update- Free Meals Available

SDMA Update- Free Meals Available
Posted on 03/16/2020

Hello SDMA Families and Staff,

Free meals will be available for ALL children in the School District of the Menomonie Area beginning on Monday, March 23.  In order to have enough meals prepared for all children, we are asking that families please fill out this short online form or make arrangements via phone by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.

According to SDMA Director of School Nutrition Michelle Kloser, a "Grab & Go" cold breakfast and lunch will be available for all children (18 and under) in the SDMA.  Meals will be provided for each of the 10 days on which school was scheduled from March 23-April 3. Meals will be available to pick up from 11:00 am-1:00 pm Monday-Friday at Menomonie High School, Menomonie Middle School, and Wakanda Elementary School. The meals will be ready for you to take with you, not to eat at school.  Both meals will be at no cost to families.

The online form only needs to be filled out once for this school closure.  We will plan on families receiving meals for each day of the school closure through April 3.  Please be sure to indicate the number of children needing meals.  Each day you will receive a sack lunch and a breakfast meal for the next day.  Meals must be eaten or refrigerated after receiving.

If you have any difficulties with the online form, please call 715-232-1642 ext 11064 and leave a message telling us (1.) how many children will be needing meals, (2.) at which school you will be picking up the meals, and (3.) if your child has any food allergies. Please be sure to include a call back number if you leave a message.  Please also call if you are requesting meals, but are unable to pick them up. Leave a message and phone number and we will call you back to help with arrangements.

Thank you for helping us support ALL of the children in our school district, and please be sure that children wash their hands before eating!
