SDMA Back-to-School Update

Dear School District of the Menomonie Area Families & Staff,
Greetings from the SDMA Administrative Service Center! It is hard to believe that the start of the 2025-26 school year is right around the corner! The first day of school with busing for students in grades 5K-12 is Wednesday, August 27. Programming for 4K begins on Thursday, August 28.As families plan for the start of the school year, here is some information that might be helpful:
- SDMA Back-to-School Newsletter- all box holders should have received the district's newsletter, but you can click on the link to view the digital version as well.
- District Calendar- the first day of school with busing for students in grades K-12 is Wednesday, August 27. A Meet & Greet Day will be held for students in grades K-8 and a Freshman First Day will be held for 9th graders on Tuesday, August 26. 4K Programming begins on Thursday, August 28.
- ParentSquare- the SDMA has adopted a new communication platform this year called ParentSquare. Families will continue to receive school communications based on the contact information they have entered into Skyward Family Access, but families may also want to download the ParentSquare mobile app to access additional communication preferences. Please check out the district website for more information or contact the district office for assistance.
- MHS School Store- the MHS school store will be having a special online "Back-to-School Sale" that closes at midnight on Tuesday, September 2. Online orders will be delivered in 3-4 weeks with items available to be shipped home or picked up at MHS. The MHS School Store is excited to offer some new school store items this year. Students and staff are revamping and reorganizing the store, so please stop by when you have time. Questions about the school store can be directed to Mrs. Nanette Goodman at: [email protected] .
- Sports/Activity Schedules, Rosters, and Livestream links: MHS student competitions begin soon. Please click on the links for more information.
- SDMA Annual Meeting- families, staff, and community members are invited to attend the school district's annual meeting and budget hearing which will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, August 25 in the MHS Tiered Lecture Hall.
Teachers and staff will be very busy next week setting up classrooms and participating in a variety of inservice activities, but we are very excited to see students and families soon. It is going to be a great school year in the SDMA!Enjoy the final weeks of summer break!
