Dear SDMA Families and Staff,

Based on the directives from last night's school board meeting, students who had been previously advised to quarantine for a close contact at school will now be allowed to resume attending school in person and participating in school sports and activities as long as they are not symptomatic.

The school district encourages the voluntary quarantine of all close contacts, but the school board has determined that it will be left up to families to decide whether students will be allowed to attend school after a potential exposure (as long as there is not a positive case in the household).

If families allow children to report to school after a potential exposure, it is requested that families please closely monitor symptoms, consider wearing a mask in school, and get tested at least five days after the exposure. Students experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and students in quarantine for any household exposures will continue to be excluded from school. Please see the attached Quick Guide for more information.

Dunn County announced today that the health department cannot keep up with contact tracing new cases, so residents testing positive for COVID-19 may have to self-notify close contacts. The school district plans to continue with contact tracing efforts in school, and the district will continue to notify families of potential exposures when possible.

Thank you.
